I have been excited about travelling to the city of dreams and
stars since forever. Yet the dream materialized to reality in December, 2016 in
form of a family trip.
We landed in
Mumbai on the morning of December 16 for a weekend trip. I was pleasantly
surprised to find that the airport here was actually in between the city and
not at some far off location as in Delhi or Bangalore.
Our cab waited
outside and we were greeted by serene breeze of fresh air as we stepped out.
The temperature was quite a departure from chilling Delhi winters.
We straight headed
forward to Taj Lands End, our hotel that we had booked in advance for this
journey. I was quite overwhelmed with its beauty and grandeur even while
browsing through its pictures at the time of booking. Although nothing could
have prepared me for what awaited in store for us during our stay at this
magnificent place.
It was a smooth
ride of about 25 minutes to the hotel from the airport and there we were at the
entrance of the grand iconic building situated aptly at the sea shore.
A turban clad,
tall 'Durban' with an envious mustache welcomed us as soon as we move out of
our car.
As soon as I
entered the building I was charmed, amazed and flabbergasted by the grandeur
and opulence of its beautiful reception area. A charming lady greeted us with a
smile as we told her about our booking details. The formalities were done with
very quickly and we were escorted to our twin bed luxury room soon after.
It was a
beautifully decorated, amply spaced room with a perfect view of Arabian sea.
Wooden furniture in form of a king sized bed; side tables, study table and two
single-seat sofa perfectly complemented the room decor. Well sized bathroom
with hot/cold shower facility and western themed toilet was perfectly clean and
refreshing.
Impressed with its
aura I immediately decided to take a tour of this beautiful property. I went
through Atrium Bay and Masala Lounge, two of many fine dining hubs inside the
hotel. I walked across the large, beautiful pool and made a mental note to not
to forget to take a dip in it tomorrow morning.
In the coming days we dined at multi cuisine Vista restaurant in
the property which served you finest delicacies while sitting in a comfortable,
serene environment in a meticulously decorated chamber, overlooking the sea.
The opulence of
this place can give our erstwhile royals a run for their money. Blended with
more than perfect and much acclaimed Taj's signature service, this stay at Taj
Land’s End, Mumbai was one of the best hotel experiences that I have had in
long time.
It goes without saying that Taj Land’s End is a beautiful and
grand property of The Taj Group. Indeed what makes it better is the fact that
everyone welcomes you and serves you with a smile. It never seems mechanical
and you can literary feel the warmth of an unmatched hospitality.
Alas, all good
things must pass and so did this awesome stay. However I went back to Delhi
with many pleasant memories of a memorable stay.
