Tamanna- A Love Story

Our eyes met for the first time, the glance was ineffable.

I have already invested more than 10 minutes of my continuous stare just for this moment. Yes I wished her to see me, precisely- notice me!

It was the start of a new session in school. We have just passed our 10th board exams and this was our first day of next class.

Some new students have joined in, but it was only her who in-captivated all my undivided attention.

She looked so fresh, neatly tied hairs in form of a pony, a glaring smile on the lips that had a little touch of gloss, tiny beautiful eyes behind those glasses and a chirping cute voice. What more could it take to have love at the first sight?

She occupied the second bench in the right row of the class. I was sitting in the last seat of the central row. I have noticed her since the moment she descended down from the school bus. Right from the moment the class started I was continuously staring at her. Indeed I was just getting the side look of her face. There was a teeny gold earring, the exact shape though wasn’t clear from this far.

It took her at least ten minutes before she saw me looking at her, actually she had turned back to talk to the girl sitting behind her. She saw me staring, instantly moved back her eyes to the girl and after few seconds again looked at me finding me in the same position. She withdrew the glance. I was redundant.

I was also disturbed from the divine pleasure by some harsh voice which came from the central front of the class. It was Ms. Deepti, our physics teacher, seemed like she also needed some part of my attention.

“Rahul, what are you doing”, she questioned.

I knew the answer but it would have proved catastrophic to my yet to start love story henceforth I retaliated.

“Nothing, Ma”am”, I defended myself.

“Yes that I can see, but in case you have forgotten during holidays, you come to school to study, not to do nothing, understood”.

“Yes Ma’aam”

“Sit down and focus here”

I know she knew what I was doing but just these girls are so envious they just can't share a guy’s attention, envious lady!

Out of any available option, I left the task close to my heart and started focusing on the chapter. It was then I realized she has already begun with the first chapter. Like what the hell is it? We haven’t even settled down properly yet, and she has started the course.

These teachers I tell you they are all same- Insanely Engrossed in Studies!

If someday I would sit down to make an exhaustive list of what I want to be in future, a teacher would come at some 569th position, even after a volcano caretaker or some African-lizard expert.

I don’t mean any offense to the profession but then it is not my cup of tea to spend whole of my life with these books. No, Never!

Anyways, the period bell rang and the physics class was over. Ms. Deepti quickly picked up the register to take the attendance.

She was calling out the names and for the first time in last 45 minutes, she had my complete attention now. I was specially paying attention to any new female names she was keenly calling and was checking out the respondent. Don’t get me wrong I was just interested in one, only one and here it finally came,

“Tamanna”
“Present Ma”am”

What a melodious present was this, it made me forget all past and future. Ahhha...

To be Cont.....
