The city known for its chilly winters is today facing too much political heat in run-up to Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Vice President Rahul Gandhi being summoned at the Delhi Metropolitan Court.
Anyhow as was expected by the comments of legal experts all the accused were let off after furnishing bail bonds.
The proceeding went on for hardly 15-20 minutes. Subramanian Swamy opposed the bails but all the accused were let off on a personal bond of Fifty Thousand Rupess each. Senior lawyers and congress party leaders Kapil Sibal and Abhishek Manu Singhavi presented the case on behalf of Sonia and others.
Court also said no to Subramanian Swamy’s request of imposing travel restrictions of the two Gandhi’s.
Apart from complete Gandhi family including Priyanka Vadera, former Prime Miniser Manmohan Singh, Ak Antony, Gulab Nabi Azad and Kumari Selja were also present in the court during the proceedings.

Congress Made A Circus Out Of Court Hearing:-
A drive in Lutyens Delhi and you will come across huge number of hoardings with the message of ‘Sonia Ji Rahul Ji We Are with You’. Large numbers of congress supporters were gathered at Congress Headquarters since morning despite being already told by the Gandhi family to keep it low key.
Attempts of converting an usual judicial procedure into political vendetta are being done day and night through various congress spokesperson, who swear by Sonia G's name and can't tolerate her being treated like a commoner.
Salman Khurshid who has previously said that Sonia Gandhi is mother of all Indians today very much lived-up to expectation by saying that “this country and its ‘aatma’ is with Sonia and Rahul Gandhi”.
Yet the man of the hour remains the fierce Subramanian Swami. The person who once was the closest aid of Rajiv Gandhi so much so that they would always share the same bench in Parliament during Indira Gandhi’s tenure as a PM and would often meet quite late at night to discuss politics and life.
So what exactly went wrong? What made Subramanian Swamy turn in to a foe from friend of Gandhi family? The anecdote is interesting.
As per Subramanian Swamy’s own confession he was good friends with Sonia in her initial days in India. He even helps her topple Atal Bihari Government in 1998 with the help of Jayalalithaa. Neverthless he soon after went against Jayalalithaa and started filing cases against her for disproportionate assets. This is the same 18 years old case in which Jayalalithaa has to go to Jail few months back.
Talking of Sonia Gandhi on several occasions, Subramanian Swamy has said that he used to meet Sonia often for tea during the tenure of PV Narsimha Rao.
One day, they were talking and she told him, "I'm more Sicilian than an Indian", Swamy asked, "Why do you say that" She said, "Indians like to be kicked, whereas you are a ruthless person".
In his last meeting with her, Swamy said, ‘This is my last meeting with you; I’ll never meet you again. You told me you were more Sicilian than Indian, now I’ll tell you what a Sicilian is’.

Another fact that offended Swamy was Gandhi’s support of mercy to Rajiv’s killers. He was in full support of Supreme Court’s decision of awarding them death penalty and got pissed off when Gandhi family expressed its desire to pardon them from it.
Sycophantic supporters of Sonia and Rahul Gandhi are celebrating their bail as if it was some kind of achievement. Ironically a bail isn’t something that proves anyone’s innocence but legally speaking it is the money that one is ordered by court to pay in exchange of getting out of jail and as an assurance to keep appearing in the court as and when required in future.
So Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi are still very much under trial and the case still has to reach its judicial conclusion.

Anyhow Sonia and Rahul Gandhi might be free for now but if someday Government decides to make sycophancy a crime, there will be no one saving Congress Supporters all high and low from getting behind the bars.
