KEDARNATH TRAGEDY

Disaster Kedarnath Tragedy Sustainable Development Uttarakhand

NATURE'S HARSH ANSWER TO HUMAN INTERVENTION

No matter how hard Man Fights but at the end even with a lot of scientific developments and innovations , we are far behind when it comes to chasing nature. Uttarakhand tragedy resulting in loss of many innocent lives is horrific and inconsolable in all senses. But if not today then someday this was destined to happen .
And why not its mother natures way of telling us that she is not the one to play with.
I feel shocked and terrified with the figures of the people affected and including many of them who have lost their lives or their loved one's in this disaster.
But wasn't it us who fueled it at the first place and its just the outburst of now uncontrollable ecological damage.
Ironically we kept watching amusingly and rather happily when natural habitat was destroyed to pave way to more shops and residential facilities  in Kedarnath ,undoubtedly the ecological balance was completely disrupted .But it was for our  convenience and so we were happy.
We were even more happy to see Helicopters ferrying TOURISTS (I find it difficult to call them pilgrims) to this place. I mean you just can't be ignorant enough to not know the huge amount of sound pollution and carbon , nitrogen emissions from these things. Not to forget number of rounds they do in a day.

Kedarnath is in arguably one of the most significant pilgrimage spot for all the Hindus of the world and their are lot of people who want to pay a visit their. But that's not a reason sufficient enough to allow such ecologically damaging practices. If truly we want to keep this heritage of our's safe and in-bound to us and our generations to come , we surly need to implement concepts of sustainable development at this place.

No doubt today stands their just the age old Temple of the lord, when all new architectural marvels are doomed in to debris. Its nature teaching us her way and even in the harder manner.

The great Lord has turned his adobe as it was years ago. And we should not be fool enough to modernize it once more. Lack of modern amenities won't be an hurdle for devoted pilgrims. God would still be same.

Deepest sympathies to those who lost their loved ones in this disaster and its high time we stop terming it as just a natural disaster and bring to book people accountable for inviting this disaster at the first place.
